Creativity Continues, Chart Legacy

Publisher Note 092723 #tbt 2007 16 years ago

As I plan for Palm Beach season for 2023-24, I realize I’ve been publishing Chart and promoting arts and charities in Florida for a long, long time. I pulled some old issues to write a story about Taboo and Leopard Lounge, two long-time promotional partners, which I will do later. The Fall 2007 quarterly issue of Chart featured an artist who painted jungle animals so I themed the events that quarter around Animal Attraction to the Arts. The magazine was headquartered in Winter Park and I was selling art from the Chart art gallery at social events that I created in Palm Beach, Naples, Mount Dora, New Smyrna Beach, Winter Park obviously, and other artsy Florida communities. I had solid sponsors and reliable generous advertisers. The small staff and the Chartists helped immensely. Some 16 years ago I looked younger and more tan. I also looked like I was having fun because I was having a ball combining all of my passions.

For the last six years, I’ve scaled back Chart to just Palm Beach and one print issue a year. Chart stays alive all year with Charty Party happy hour events, an online newsletter and social media. No staff or Chartists. Solo.

I have time and inclination to add more to Chart and / or take on other writing / advertising agency / marketing projects. This photo reminds me of how happy I am when I am creating.

Here’s to a Happy Fall 2023!
