Charticle on Path to College and Founder Christine Sylvain – For eight years, Path to College (PTC) has helped overlooked low-income students gain acceptance to four-year colleges debt-free. Through mentorship, academic support and leadership opportunities, PTC empowers students to reach their full academic and personal potential. In 2024, a 5000 square-foot space for Catapult Youth Mentoring Center was awarded to PTC by the Lake Worth Beach CRA with a low rent and low purchase price. The nonprofit has operated out of partnership spaces and by the end of 2025 will move in to a permanent headquarters to provide high-achieving low-income students the opportunity to a higher education. The 100 Palm Beach County students who “do good and go far” are chosen by low income, challenges at home, and a growth mindset. The PTC program with a staff of 10 and 200 volunteers provide the consistent caring mentoring to connect these students with top schools and the best scholarships available. Other high school students are served through outreach programs throughout Palm Beach County.
