Charting something to smile about with The Art of Orthodontics with John Beattie, DDS, MSD — Beattie Family Orthodontics started sponsoring the Chart SMILE Student Art and Writing Contest in 2006, the same year that John Beattie, DDS, MSD opened the Baldwin Park office. John has always had an affinity for children’s art and Chart created a turn-key arts promotion for him where they partnered for a decade. John also uses artistic skills in his practice. He said, “Orthodontics is a combination of science and art where I get to use my head and my hands and my heart. Orthodontic treatment is based on scientific principles, but we use artistic sensibilities to plan the treatment and position the teeth in a harmonious balance that looks beautiful and is functional, healthy and stable.”
