Chart first interviewed Diane Buhler in 2018 when she was collaborating with South Florida Science Center and Aquarium on an art exhibit. Ocean debris was created into art by local middle school students to create awareness for the refuse, reuse, recycle mantra. Diane started Friends of Palm Beach in 2014, and continues to actively network at community events to bring awareness and ask for funding. She is most often spotted with her crew in the transitional work program from nonprofits fighting homelessness such as The Lord’s Place and VitaNova. While donations and support are helpful, Diane asks that each of us not partake in single-use plastics and be eco-minded when purchasing, create positive habits and pay attention to your impact.
